Milford Youth Center

A Program of the Town of Milford and the United Way of Tri-County

MYC Snack Attack Program!

We are so excited to announce that starting this October we will be able to provide a free snack to every after school member for the rest of the school year! The snack will include a whole grain and/or protein snack, along with either a fresh piece of fruit or a 100% juice beverage!

This program would not have been possible without the collaboration of CACFP, Hockomock Area YMCA and the Milford School Food & Nutrition Services department! We hope this program will help provide our members with a nutritious snack during the gap between their school lunch and  their return home for dinner after our program ends at 6 PM! Please contact our Program Coordinator, Christine Daddario here or call 508-473-1756 if you would like to help pass out snacks for this program!

MYC After School Program – October 2017!

The month of September has flown by for us here at the youth center. We’ve been having so much fun, and surprisingly, sun! As we warmly enter into fall and the month of October, we have some new programming and updates to share with you. This month we will be changing the time of our homework help from 2:00 to 3:00. This will make it more available for kids coming from Woodland schools and also give kids a chance to take a break right after school before they start on their homework. We also have a free tutor available. Please email us if you are interested to set up an appointment. Sewing will be starting on October 3rd. This class will be led by Lisa White, Christine Daddario, and Darlene Dulude. The kids will be progressing to using sewing machines this year, which we are pretty excited about. CrossFit is going strong into October. Remember, kids will also get a piece of fresh fruit for participating in this class. Fishing is another popular hit as a new program at the Center. We will have a new volunteer, Bob Gilmore, who is a Mass Wildlife trainer, “Let’s Go Fishing” instructor. He will be assisting with the fishing class. As a reminder, we have a career and college guidance class on Tuesdays, our craft and nutrition classes, which are both continuing in their success, and our nature hikes which give kids another chance to get out into nature. We transitioned from JAG into our very own MYC Youth council which is proving to be very popular this year. The kids are in the process of nominating leadership for the group and we have lots of applications for president, vice president, treasurer, and social media coordinator. As a last note on our programming, our gym staff is always available to run organized games, whatever the kids request. Finally, we are having our annual Halloween event on October 27th from 7-9pm. We will have a haunted maze, pumpkin painting, and fun for the whole family. The cost is $3 per person or $10 for a family. WE are also in search of volunteers for this event, if you would like to help out contact Christine Daddario at 508-473-1756 or
